KENYA SHORT TERM  MISSION TRIPS

A Kenya Slum School for Orphans Needs a Classroom & Host Medical Outreach, March 18-28, 2027

Your team member fee of $3685.00 includes round-trip international airfare from most major cities worldwide. Your team will help with light construction on a much-needed dormitory at one of the schools for disabled students in a primitive area of Kenya. We will also help build a small classroom to replace a mud hut serving for classes at a primary school in Western Province. We'll also be involved in helping with a primary-care medical outreach. We provide the training; you provide the loving labor of love that goes with it! This is definitely a worthwhile trip and a great opportunity to make lots of new friends! And whenever possible, we'll venture out to see places like Lake Victoria, the Equator, and possibly a nearby rainforest. We'll also do a daytime safari at one of the famous Kenya game parks. This trip will change your life!

This opportunity is open to everyone! Your team member fee includes RT international airfare from most cities worldwide. Your $3685 fee also includes hotel and host lodging, in-country flights, most of your meals, ground transportation, medicines for the outreach, and helps to provide some of the materials related to the project. Your team will be coming alongside ongoing projects at one or possibly two special needs schools we serve in a very rural area in a mountainous region in Western Province. One school needs a dormitory for their rapidly expanding population, and another needs a classroom made from blocks to replace the failing mud huts serving as classrooms currently. You will be helping to make and set blocks, dig foundations, mix concrete, and, in general, assist those we recruit to help with the labor. You will be helping to do whatever is necessary to help make this dream a reality. We will also host at least one community-wide primary care medical camp with oversight from the Ministry of Health...and you will be helping the doctors and nurses serve them! There is always something to do, even if you just hold babies, hold a Grandma, or pray with those who have never seen a doctor before. You will build lifelong relationships!

We'll also interview some of the students in hopes of finding sponsors who will provide $45 monthly scholarships to help pay for their school fees.

And we promise not to wear you out. Your team may also find time to visit such places as Lake Victoria, the second-largest freshwater lake in the world. Some past teams even made a side trip to the Equator and to a genuine rainforest, which is always exciting. You and your team will also take part in a daytime game drive safari to see the animals at one of the famous Kenya game parks.

Remember: Experience is not required. A willing heart to serve the poorest of the poor is all that is required. We will debrief before returning home.

The work site location for the school is located among the Luhya Tribe in Shivagala, a small community near Kakamega in Western Kenya which is located north of Lake Victoria and just east of the Uganda border. The medical outreach is located in the same or similar community...there are seven we serve.

Trip fee includes RT international airfare from most airline hub cities, hotel and camp style lodging, medicines for the outreach, in country air flights (there are 2), ground transportation, fees for the game park, most meals, and some of the material cost related to the construction projects. Additional team member costs include a passport, Kenya visa ($50), daily fluids (water, soda, etc), and spending money. We recommend bringing about $175 to $300 additional to cover these expenses.
